Alice Vinton Waite (January 16, 1864 - April 6, 1943) was Dean Emeritus of Wellesley College.

Waite retired in 1932 after thirty-five years of distinguished service, during nineteen of which she was Dean of the College. She carried the exacting duties of her office with delightful humor, sound judgment, and absolute devotion to the welfare of the College.

During her extensive tenure at Wellesley College, which included her time as an active faculty member in the English department from 1900 to 1910, she contributed significantly to both the academic and administrative life of the institution. Her scholarly pursuits included editorial work such as Modern Masterpieces of Short Prose Fiction, and she later guided the college through a transformative period of growth during her long service as Dean from 1913 until 1931. Within the history of women's higher education, biographical frameworks examining educators from this era often explore their participation in close-knit, women-centered academic communities, professional partnerships, and domestic arrangements characteristic of early twentieth-century academic women.
